One particular accessory that is making a comeback and has made the fashion world excited since the start of the year is the wonderful chiffon headscarf. On a prominent fashion week, the use of a head scarf completed the designs of many fashion designers. Although styles differed from simple to grandiose, the versatility of the scarf was displayed as models marched down the runway with heads covered in scarves.

So while it's true that chiffon head scarves have not really been outdated, they are definitely a bigger trend this year. They can add drama to any outfit, smarten up your look, give off an air of nostalgia, or just add a whimsical touch to your getup. The reputation of this accessory as truly versatile and useful cannot be denied with its long history of usage going back to the fourteenth century.

An alternative to the style above is tying the ends into a knot behind the ear and letting the ends fall freely on the shoulders. While some use scarves for aesthetic purposes to highlight their face or hairstyle, for instance, others choose to use scarves for protection from wind, rain and other natural elements.

Although many young women initially thought head scarves are unfashionable, it's not difficult to see how these accessories have won the hearts of fashionistas worldwide. Scarves are diverse, easy to bring, and can be worn in many ways and paired with practically any wardrobe.

For some time, scarves were ignored as just another accessory but the versatility of this garment has been re-discovered and now, depending on the type of head scarf used and how it was worn, it continues to add an interesting, glamorous or elegant flair to a getup.
